A Morrisville Borough man was arrested and charged as part of a gun investigation.

Andrew Richard Bizon, 33, of Morrisville, was preliminarily arraigned late Thursday afternoon by District Judge Terry Hughes on five counts of prohibited possession of a firearm and counts of possession of an instrument of crime, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $500,000.

Detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney Office’s Drug Strike Force carried out a search and seizure warrant at Bizon’s home in the 100 block of Harper Avenue in Morrisville Borough at 12:32 on Thursday. Bizon was taken into custody after leaving the house, authorities said.

The two rifles and three completely constructed ghost guns, which were described as untraceable weaponry without serial numbers, were found during the search of an upstairs bedroom. A total of 1,000 rounds of ammunition, many magazines, including high-capacity magazines, drill bits, and tool kits for firearm assembly were also recovered by the detectives, authorities said.

Three glassine bags with further heroin/fentanyl were also found during the search, along with two bundles of heroin/fentanyl, authorities said.

A criminal complaint stated Bizon was questioned and acknowledged owning the weapons despite being a prohibited person. A review of the defendant’s criminal history found a 2010 drug-related felony conviction.

Additionally, Bizon acknowledged using one of the weapons he manufactured in the Morrisville backyard, authorities said.

Thursday’s arrest by the Bucks County Detectives Drug Strike Force took place in conjunction with the Morrisville Borough Police Department, Quakertown Borough Police Department, and the U.S. Postal Inspector Service, and with the assistance of the Liberty Mid-Atlantic High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (LMA HIDTA).

“Once again, our Bucks County Drug Strike Force arrested a felon who was in possession of illegal guns and drugs before this terrible combination could wreak deadly havoc on our community,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. “Our Strike Force is saving lives by doing this hard and dangerous work. In order to keep our community safe, we remain committed to taking as many felons possessing guns and drugs off the street as possible.”

Weintraub said county prosecutors and investigators have increased their focus on gun-related crimes, including illegally possess and sell firearms.
