Joe Cullen cruised past Dave Marland as the World Series of Darts continued into Wollongong with the New South Wales Darts Masters.

It wasn't as stellar from Cullen who averaged 108 in defeating him last week but 'The Rockstar' expected a better version of his opponent and got that.

"To be fair I put myself under a bit of unnecessary pressure maybe because I was expecting a better version of Dave (Marland) and that's what we got tonight. He played so much better than he did last week, he relaxed a bit. I think I was my own worst enemy," he said to Online Darts.

"As long as I get six by my name get up and running and I'm gonna go again tomorrow."

He also discussed the comparisons with Townsville and said the crowd was a lot better than on the first trip on the tour.

"Dave said he had 20 or 30 of his mates in there as well so they was on my back from the first dart. It was all good fun, it was nothing off putting. It was miles better atmosphere and a more knowledgeable crowd as well.

But it is an enjoyable time for the Masters Champion who said he is loving playing darts, earning and travelling the world at the same time.

"I've always wanted to come to Australia and visit New Zealand as well so to do so well whilst working and getting paid to do so is really good. I've got my dad and my son with me as well so the downtime is enjoyable as well as I've got a bit of company."
